Just testdrove my eclipse

Ok here's teh story. This thread is mainly for NoPretender, but instead of PM'ing him i figured I share it with everyone.lol.

So one of my dads friends had a son who was working on a '99 eclipse. Kid was like 21 and he was suppin' this car up, when he lsot his job. The kid went and robbed a store in southbend at gunpoint, and got locked up. The dad COMPLETELY disowned the kid, and sold all his shit.Since the car was in his name, he told my dad that he could keep the car if he could put the engine back together.

So for the past few weeks we been doin that. KEep in mind this thing is far from stock. Came stock with a turbo, but the stock turbo was upgraded. Shaved door handles, alloy rims, custom silverish/greyish metallic paintjob this thing was fuckin decked. The kid bought a bodykit, and new wing for it, but luckily we got the car before he could put 'em on and rice it out. Besides i htink the roundish wing that comes stock o nthat model is pretty sexy. So my dad got the engine put back together,did soem custom piping n shit to make it a lil better, set up the turbo cleaned it all up and we just got it finished today. Things got alot of money under the hood.

So we trailored it to danny's shop, filled it up, and started it.Thing started right up.Keep in mind this thing dont got no fart can, but it roared pretty good for a jap car. (dont got duals NP i was teh wrong.)

Me and my dad drove it around the block a few times, then decided to open it up.Holy shit, i was leaned forward, and as soon as he hit it iw as in the seat.Lmao. That cars got some fuckin takeoff. Gotta admit its a quick one.

My dad says as it is, with some minor tunning he could prolly have it running mid 13's low 14's easy. Not bad for a friggin' eclipse. But somethings fucked up in the rear end, differential or somehting.

Gotta jack that up and see what the problem is, other then that pretty sexy car.Engine runs perfectly.

NE ways im a musclecar guy, and really dont need an eclipse so I was sellin it, and NP's prolly gonna buy it.

Fuckin bad ass, pullin up to the stopsign and the blow off valves just go pheew pheew.

Ill get some picks of it 2morrow 2 post up so ya'll can teh check it out.

The non-turbo motor was a version of the Chrysler Neon engine (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chrysler_Neon_engine), manufactured by Chrysler and delivered to and installed at the Diamond Star Motors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diamond_Star_Motors) facility.

Yes its the higher one. Idk it just looks good 2 me. Curves with the shape of the rest of the car.Imo it just flows better.

LOL Sorry homie, I wasnt knockin your ride. My boy had a GSX back in the day with a Stage 3 Turbo and Intercooler kit. I liked it. I was just stating that it is fast but the all-wheel drive thing makes it alot faster as well. He used to tach it out and then drop the clutch at like 7k rpm's and no spin...Nice.

Either way, GSX I'm taking it. Fucking pissed it's "highly modified" but 14sec isn't highly modified, you can't get to 14 sec with a mild turbo upgrade and the basics. I'm going to turn it into an 11 sec beast, just watch. Hopefully next year I'll be completed and we'll have weekend races :nod:

@ Fieldy: Let me know what you guys find with the rear differential. Since we're using this thread instead of PM, can you figure out what's been ugpraded? Turning it to a high 13sec sounds like it would be using a 16G or 18G turbo, but I'd like to know if injectors, manifold, fuel pump, etc have been upgraded. Just get me those pics and information, and we'll set something up for next weekend.

Meh i know my dad did alot of custom piping N shit off the turbo. Know its got new fuel lines, lots of other stuff. When I go over there 2day ill get my dad 2 go over it with me see exactly what all its got done 2 it. We gonna bring it 2 dannys lift and see what we find wrong with the rear end. Says it might be nothing, but we gotta check just in case it is something and it gets worse.Next saturday we will be goin 2 chaos so we might not be here, but ill talk 2 him see if we can work something out.

Nah NP, he didnt do that evertime. He would just mess around and launch it at 7k. LOL He knew what he was doing and it was his car and I didnt give a fuck if he messed it up. He normally launched it at around 5k or so typically.

But yes we cracked open the rear end and like almost half the gears where stripped.Guess it was 2 tough for that cheap ass aluminum.Lol. And im sure we didnt help it any launching on it like that but all we need is new gears.Shouldnt take long ,as long as the gears get here fast enough my dads workin on gettin those 2day. Dont wanna get stock ones, so they cant strip as easy again.
