So last year my 1st car was total loss after a car accident..... so i have been able to save up a lil more than $4500 for my next car, now i can buy a used car at a deealership but i will have to have full coverage & with 1 ticket & the accident being my fault (fucken bullshit ) my insurance will pretty high (or aound the same it was b4 cause i use to have 2 tickets b4 the accident) or i can buy some used pice of junnk off the street & wait for my ticket to be erased next year keep saving more money maybe enough to get the new camaro in 09 or just a better car .... but my thing is yeah i will save on insurace every month if i get some bucket, but then every time it breaks down im going to have to go into my piggy bank:P & take money awwy from my funds for my new , so id really would not be getting anywhere.....so what do you guys recomend?

here we go, what you want is a reliable car but you dont want to be working just for a car either...my suggestion to you is this...either A) check out esurance.com and see how much they will charge you for insurance...they are REALLY good, brought my insurrance down from 650 a month to 350 a month..(this is full coverage, brand new driver)...or B) buy a junker and save up for teh car of your dreams....

i personally would go with B) because ive learned the hard way....i will never buy a car again thats just "ok"...it has to be EXACTLY what i want, EXACTLY

You're not gonna get a rust bucket wit $4,500, you can actually get a real good car wit that money. If you plan on buyin a new car in the future, buy something thats fuel efficient, for now, to save you some money.

dont buy a car and trade it in a few years later, thats the mistake i learnd the hardway with

i bought an 01 vw jetta...it wasnt fast enough for me so i traded it in a year and half later and got my current GTI, i was upside down on my trade by like 2thousand...thus making the car i have now...2 thousand dollars more than its worth...its just not worth it...either get a car your gonna stick with for at least 4 years now, or just suck it up and wait for the car you really want. if i could go back in time i would have never got the 01 jetta, i would have stuck with some shit box and saved and saved so that i could have bought a fully loaded GTI instead...

dont think about what makes you happy now..think about whats going to make you happy in the long run

good point,i only taught about that cause my cousin told its only worht trading in your car if you have paid more than half of it off this way you actually get somthing for it even if you havent fully paid that car off ..... but im just real picky i woudent know what to get for around $2500 for right now

^imo it doesnt even matter what you get for 2500 because its gonna be pretty shitty regardless. c-town bought a prelude for i think he said 500...so i mean there are some good deals out there, have you checked out

autotrader.com
cars.com
vehix.com

check those out see what you find

05 civics will be reliable...but at that price im kidna scared...hondas hold resale value very well...so there might be some other goings on if they are only selling for that price

you'll always pay way to much at dealers...use your money for a downpayment, and get a loan through a bank to finance the rest if your gonna buy a used car. Dealers are in it to make money...tons of people just want to unload the cars for what they owe or barely over (always cheaper then a dealer)
