A Roswell, New Mexico Honda dealership has run into a bit of a problem with its latest sweepstakes marketing campaign. It apparently printed out 50,000 scratch-off tickets as part of a direct-mail campaign which was supposed to result in one $1000 grand prize winner. Unfortunately for the dealer and company responsible for implementing the marketing campaign, all of the tickets were in fact $1000 winners, and the mistake wasn’t caught until around 30,000 of them were mailed out.
Force Events Direct Marketing has apologized for the $30 million error, but it isn’t clear how they plan to make good on the error.

I thought this story was kind of amusing.
