I really like that black Jetta. My biggest gripe with VW is the price of there parts. Those cars aren't cheap to fix, and they aren't really any more reliable than a domestic brand, but I really like the way some of the cars look.

yeah that sloppy fuck with the sideways cap in the white golf does WONDERS for the image of these modern "import tuners". Looks like the typical one id see at a light. the cars are pretty clean at least. In this pic you can at least see my TT behind my real pride and joy.

my favourite hatch's would have to be golf gti, peugeot 306 and the 97-99 spec civic type r. hey seeking how much hp does ur gti have?
seeking
07-24-2007, 02:38 PM
my car comes with 200bhp from the factory, however vw underrated it to protect insurance costs. people have dyno'd thier stock gti's and get around 197whp,
i love the peougot 306

realy? i thought the new ones would have alot more than that, but 200 is still nice. never trust a dyno, a dyno apparently should only be used for tuning purposes where you keep using the same dyno, all dynos have very different readings. like a local tuner here in palmerston north has his dyno reading alot higher than it should, so in turn itl make his customers real happy and keep coming back to him.

true, my job deals with dynos so i know how it is, but this is the average dyno reading from all over america so it should be pretty accurate, but ya on 200, the r32 has 240...it would have had 280 but vw decided to not put the 3.6 vr6 in it, which is stupid as fuck imo

a lot of times companies put smaller engines in vechicles to make there CAFE(Corporate Average Fuel Economy) numbers look better. For the longest time that is why GM wouldn't put any power into there compact cars for this exact reason. If the small cars get a lot of power(and worse gas mileage) it can end up being at the expense of the power of the larger cars. In the next few years the law is going to require carmakers CAFE numbers to be much higher than they currently are. So you can expect to see a lot more cars that seem to be underpowered even when there is an alternative engine at the companies disposal. I'd be willing to bet that VW is just prepping itself for these increased requirements.

thats possible, VW's official word is that the 3.6 engine doesnt fit in the mk5 body style, however they put it in the audi a3/s3 so thats complety bullshit
