God I miss the 95' Cleveland Indians....the would have been the best baseball team EVER if it wasnt for the damn strike!! If you dont agree..check this topic on the internet with the national baseball experts....they put them under like the old yankee teams and old dodger teams...but there is no way of telling b/c the 95' Indians already have a better record than a team at that point ever....They were moppin the floor with people! I almost bring myself to tears remembering how damn good the indians were at one time..anybody from Cleveland feel my pain on this?????

I remember those teams with Manny Ramirez, Albert Belle, Jim Thome, Kenny Lofton, Omar Visquel. They even had two hall of famers in Dave Winfield and Eddie Murray. And Jose Mesa was the dominant closer. That brings back bad memories for me. I'm a huge Twins fan, and back then the Indians would beat us up pretty bad. They had a great team.

No, that Cleveland team was not the greatest team ever. It wasn't even the best team in the 90s, the 98 Yankees were. Cleveland didn't even win the World Series that year, so any historical debate ends right there. I don't care how good a team is on paper, if they don't win it all, the discussion is over, otherwise my beloved Mariners are in the conversation for their 2001 team.

the indians were the best.

.. Still my fav team, theyve been on fire lately

but yea they won a hundred games that year, and there was only 144 games that season opposed to 162.

they had some mad hr hitters, plus speed from lofton and vizquel.

Yup, they won 100 games. And 18 games were missed. So at that percent, they'd likely have won about 12 or 13 more games. Still not as many as the 98 Yankees (114) or 2001 Mariners (116).

That great team still lost in the world series though.

It really was a great team, but not even in the debate for best team of all time. They might have been in the top 25 teams of all time, but even that I might debate. Albert Belle was a stud. One of the most underrated players of all time. It's too bad that degenerative hip ended his career so prematurely.

Here's a link to a book published report that has the 95 Indians as the 3rd best team of all time.....but this report was made before the 98 yankees made the cut.....But still, I think had it not been for the strike...they would have wound up better off dammit..........

Um...that book...

You may as well have used a 3rd graders research paper on baseball. =]
