There was talks of a
movie done back in 96-97 but the creator did not want to do one because it would take away
from the series. A movie would have shortened the life of the Simpsons and it wouldn't still be
on the air today but in syndication. Right now, the Simpsons are contracted for this season
and one more season. Whether fox will renew is up to them, but the chances are high. The
simpsons still produce great strong ratings and the Fox network see no reason to pull it off the
air. A movie would work now as it would have 10 years ago. Now the animation would be so
much better compared to what it may have been years ago.
