i really hope he signs w/ the cavs... that would be a great combo of James and Redd... James will demand a double team and if they resign Z he will too so Redd will get alot of uncontested shots unlike this pastseason w/ the bucks where he was doubled alot.
Some things that could tip the scale in cavs favor: he reportedly has family that live in cleveland, he's from columbus, ohio, has a home in columbus, trains in ohio every summer.
Its also rumored if he signs w/ the cavs that Lebron will get him a better endorsement deal w/ nike to offset what the cavs aren't allowed to give him.
Plus his jersey would look cool

if he would play for the cavs he would wear a different number, "22" is retired for Larry Nance.

Either way, Cavs arent going anywhere, yeah they got LeBron, but I dont think Redd will help them that much ORLANDO MAGIC ALL THE WAY (maybe in couple years)

Lebron is 1 player away from showing the world how truly great he is. I don't know if Michael Redd is that player, but he very well could be. Ideally, someone in the Scottie Pippen mold would compliment him perfectly.

my brother went 2 high school with Mike Redd and they were good friends at West High (Columbus OH).. but anyways, i live in Columbus and i hope Mike Redd doesnt go 2 the Cavs.. i cant stand them.. for about 5 years now everybody has been talkin about Lebron James.. ever since he was a sophmore in high school.. tired of hearin about him
sign with the Bucks fool. Play on your own team. Create your own name. All he'll ever be in Cleveland is Lebron's "Robin", when he really has the talent to be a go to guy for the Bucks.

He did create his own name otherwise he wouldn't be one of the top FA sg getting max deals thrown at him. He was the go to guy for the bucks, was 11th in ppg in the nba. There is nothing wrong w/ being a "robin" to anyone-- Jordan had one w/ pippen but other than that idk. If he signs i don't think he will be a "robin" but part of a high scoring trio in James, Z, and himself.

Espn and other sport stations are saying Michael Redd will stay a Buck for 6 yrs for over 90 million, oh well hopefully the cavs can find another shooting gaurd... maybe joe johnson or something.

word on the street the cavs have reached a deal with washington wizards gaurd Larry Hughes, he isn't the 3pt threat that the cavs needed but he can score and play great defense. Now the cavs have #1(hughes) and #3(James) in steals per game from last season.

Mike Redd would be great w/ Lebron but this guy is good too.

LeBron = No Playoff Experience

I watched Some Cav games and I still think they don't have the players to make them go far in the playoffs but in almost every game I watched them in the last season Lebron James just took over. He won them games that they were suppose to lose to me thats more important then playoff experience. Playoff experience is a excuse people use when a team loses. The only team I see stopping them is the Pacers when they get Artest back. Pistons won't make it again and Shaq is getting old and just maybe He isn't the same like he used to be we can only hope. Anyway Lebron is crazy and Larry Huges will be a great fit for them.

^i think if they had more of a 3pt threat they would get to atleast second round playoffs, but with a good player in hughes im still optimistic. All they need now is to resign Z, find a good pg, and now they are looking to snatch Udonis Haslem away from the heats. Looking to be a good offseason for the cavs.

Wasn't that the lineup they had last year?

^^^^^ LOL ya but first they were plaugued by injuries. Turkoglu had to sit out like the last 15 games of the season cause of an elbow injury. Kelvin Cato, a key role player, missed a handful of games because of an season-ending shoulder injury. Grant Hill had to sit out the last 10 games (during their playoff run), cause of an shin injury. Steve Francis was also suspended for 6 games for kicking a camerman, late in the season.
The most IMPORTANT reason why they missed the playoffs last year. They had an horrible coach, but now they re-hired Brian Hill (the coach that got them in the finals in 1995). Also, Dwight Howard and Jameer Nelson can only get better in time. All of this and this was like their first year together as a team.
I think i made enough good points.

Lebron isn't going n e where. Redd turned down cavs offer so we got hughes, who is a better defensive player(led the league in steals, all-defensive team, still scored 22 ppg), his 3pt shooting % was just as good as Redd before he broke his thumb.
The cavs resign Z, they will most likely sign Sarunas Jaskivicius(sp?) for pg. He was on the Lithuanian Olympic Team putting up huge threes all over everyone including the US team, He was the bestman at Z's wedding, and the last three teams he played for in Europe he led them to the Euroleague championship and won them. He also has the passing abilities that would rival Jason Williams.
Lebron will be a restricted free-agent in two years so the cavs will be able to match whatever offer anyteam will throw at him.
