i judge a sport by the quality of the sport not on how much they give the players. If you dont like hockey well its your right to have your opinion. No need to try putting down those who do.

guys who come in an NHL related thread to bash the league have no life. that said, i'm one of the happiest human beings on the face of the earth now that the league and the players have reached an agreement. it took a while for the players to accept the deal that was on the table right from the get go of the lock out, but hey, now that it's back, i say it was worth the wait.
hopefuly the new rules help the game become a lot more offensive and action packed.
BTW Joe, October 5th shall be a big day for the both of us. the season begins with a very intense match as my Habs face off with ur Big Bad Bruins!!!
I'M HELLA EXCITED!!!!

...hopefuly the new rules help the game become a lot more offensive and action packed.....
What r the new rules?
What r the new rules?Goalies aren't allowed to unnecisarily freeze the puck.
Goalies aren't allowed to go behind the net to play the puck.
If the game is tied at the end of overtime, then it goes to a shootout instead of just ending.
There's some more but that's all I remember off the top of my head.

Budsmoka im patiently waiting...we want our revenge
Those who make fun of hockey arent intelligent enough to understand the sport and rules, ive realized this since day one. Its the most exciting sport to watch, try it sometime...especially watching it in the stadium. Besides, you can fight in hockey...

rumor has it that they offered thornton a 5 year 25mill. Ive been hearing that he wants no less then 5.5 but might settle for 5 mill if the bruins promise to bring in better talent

so krayzieportagee, r u hyped for Crosby being with the Pens? i'm happy that he will be playing with Lemieux, the 2 of them 2gether is something to see surely.
if only players can pick where they want to play, cause Crosby would surely come to Montreal. but it's alright though. i still have a tiny feeling that somewhere down the line, Crosby will make his way here and become a Hab!!! only time will tell!!!

yes i am excited about crosby. I hope they can also bring malkin from russia to play for the pens. I have been hearing that many big name players are having there agents call the penguins to try to get something done. Some names rumored are.. kovalev, chelios, neidamyer, nasland, kariya, domi, and foote. I hope they can get something going. Monday is the start of free agent signings so we will have to wait and see what happines. On a side note budsmoka were you surprised montreal picked up a goalie in the draft? That was the last thing i expected. I think they will live to regret that move.. but only time will tell.

yea, i was shocked... i was watching and i was like "nice, let's c who they will pick", and they chose Price. although he is the best goalie in the draft, i saw no reason for wanting to pick him now. goaltending shouldn't be our main focus now. i just think the Habs were looking for someone that can help them in the future. cause next year, Theodore will become an unrestricted free agent and u never know if he leaves. Huet, our backup, is injured, and Danis from our farm team in Hamilton, he can be there with Price. i guess that's the direction the Habs took.
i'll be the first to admit that Montreal is better when they make trades and pick up free agents. not when they draft. cause somewhere down the line, they usualy trade for future draft picks.
and as good as Price is, i'd rather have him traded to a team that needs goaltending and bring in someone who can help us at the blue line. cause our offense isn't the best u can find, but they are better than most people give them credit for. as for our blue line, we need to be able to defend in order to win more games.
and as for all those names who are rumored to come to Pittsburgh, it's seriously the same thing for every team. even the habs have had their share of rumors of players who are looking to come here. Kariya, Lecavalier, Daze are to name a few. but i know that Kovalev is interested in returning to the Pens. yes i would like him to stay here in Montreal, but now that Crosby is with u guys, i think he's leaned more into moving to Pittsburgh.

sry for actualy bringing this up a little late, but man am i happy Kovalev decided to stay here. his main reason is the fans' support and i have to agree with him. not to take away anything from other fans, but Montreal is the best place to be a hockey fan. it is religion up here. Toronto, Boston and Detroit are fans who follow hockey religiously aswel, but i have to say not the passionate way the Habs fans are.
Kovalev stays and gives us hope as Dandeneault is a much improved replacement for Brisebois who i wish would have been gone a long time ago. i feel sorry for the Avalanche who signed him.
to the fuckass that said they dont get paid for shit...
this is because they dont really care how much they get paid, hockey players play for pride, the love of the game
did you know that players dont even get paid a cent in the playoffs, nor do they get paid if they win the stanley cup, its a passion filled sport, thanks

how do you guys feel about the nhl being on the oln network?
Thornton signed a 3-year deal with Boston for $20 million. Bruins are gonna win the cup this year thanks.
The NHL could still be on ESPN. They have a chance to match the offer of Comcast. If they do, they would obtain the rights to the games instead of Comcast.
