Any boxer would be owned by any top level mma fighter. Now thats the troof, BAM

Maybe, but you never know a boxer would automatically have great stand up. Sometimes that is all you need.

top level vs. top level, there is pretty much no chance for the boxer.

^i agree

Many times i saw mma matches that ended up being a standup bout and u see poorly thrown punches and wild looping arms.

Im not saying a boxer could enter a mma event and take over, thats crazy. But he would have a fighting chance.

Today's mixed martial artist has to be well versed in many different fighting techniques. U have to be pretty decent in every aspect of the sport or your opponent may expose ur weakness.

Obviously a boxer's weakness would be the ground. And a Grappler\Wrestler would be the standup.

But if we are putting top level vs. top level, it could go either way. Who's rules would be used. If its mma rules, ofcourse the mma fighter would have the advantage but if its in the boxing ring i pick the boxer to knock the other guy out.

Don't get me wrong i rather watch a mma match instead of a boxing match, but boxing isn't garbage.

Yea, I agree you have to be skilled in everything. I just think a boxer COULD dominate if it comes down to stand up, of course they will not be skilled on the ground but boxers are in great shape like mma fighters and I think a boxer if he worked on his ground game would do good in the UFC. Look at Andrei Arlovski, he uses his boxing ability alot. He usually knocks out fighters or knocks them down then makes them tap or wins with strikes. I also think a quick boxer would be able to keep a ground fighter away easily unless the guy wants to eat shots which many will do so there is no telling what will happen until they fight. I'm not gonna rule out a fighter just because he is a boxer and the other fighter has trained in mma more than him. That's dumb.

ok i dont despise boxing anymore
i saw Gatti vs Ward from 2002
and this weekend i saw Morales get owned by Zahir Raheem
so, i might watch this Tarver vs Jones III thing :)

top level vs. top level in a boxing match= mma<boxing...goes both ways...if it was mma match mma>boxing...but i think a top level boxer would have a better chance of winning an mma match rather than an mma fighter winning a boxing match.

i still say boxing can be entertaining

what i was saying is that an mma fighter would lose to a boxer in a boxing match..and a boxer would lose to an mma figher in an mma match...how is boxing not fighting?? what are you baking a cake or something when boxing??? I've read in another thread that you do taekwondo...I guarantee you any amature boxer would hand your ass to you.
