Anyway, 'bout me: Names
Simple Man, or Reverend John (as my friends like to call me), I love Jesus Christ, I Love the
Word of God, I love the herb, and I love the hell outta BTNH!
Favorite song's "The
Weed Song", man I LOVE THAT SONG! Though, to be honest, I still don't know what the
hell "P.O.D.ed" means, but it's still an awesome song
I'm a lyricist, but
haven't written anything as good as the aforementioned song, yet. Still working on it, but I
don't think I can do anything of that caliber, it just aint in me :!:
Okay, dats enough

a few replies (if the mood hits me) and listen to the weed song.

If I felt smoking herb was
coming between my relationship with Him, I'd never toke again. On the contrary, it not only
DOESN'T get in the way of my glorifying God, but it helps me. It helps me spread His gospel,
the gospel of our salvation to ALL men, not just to the clean-cut Church-going self-righteous
hyprocrits (not that all clean-cut church-going Christians are hypocrits, mind
you).
That's not a good idea to try to spread the word to
everybody because then you're judging people. And you know it's not your place to judge
anyone. It's judging becaue when you try to go up to people and teach them these things,
then your already assuming that they need help. Your assuming that they're a bad person and
that they need to change their ways. For all you know, they can know more then you, they
might pray everyday, go to chuch often, and read their Bible everyday. They might be thinking
in their head, "why am I the one that needs help and not you?" As far as starting a thread on
this discussion, there is a forum on this board which is religious
discussion.
Thanks for pointing out the religious forum, I just
noticed that myself :)
You bring up some good points here, which I would like to
address, then I think I will move over to the religious forum, if your interested in discussing this
further.
I wanted to point out that when I share his gospel (or spread it, which is the
same to me) it is not about condemnation or judging, and i certainly don't believe I am better
then anyone I share the gospel with, or wiser, or purer, or whatever. It's more like, have you
ever seen a movie that you thought was just so awesome, you wanted to tell everyone about
it? If you meet someone, and you get to talking, chances are you will ask him/her about that
movie, see if they've seen it, if not, you'll probably share your love of the movie. It's kind of
(though not exactly) that way with the gospel, to me. Of course if you start talking to someone
about the movie, and they have seen it, you will probably get more excited talking about it with
them, and if they know things about the movie, you weren't aware of, all the better,
right?
Now as far as assuming anyone (or everyone) needs help, or that anyone is a
bad person. The only person I make that assumption about is myself. I know that I have done
bad things, and that I am capable of being pretty bad, and I know I need ALOT of help... I
know I've probably had a much sordid past then most of the people I meet, and I have much
to learn and much to discover about my own faith in God... so... I wouldn't say I am ever
judging anyone else by sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, nor do I think everyone I speak
to knows less then me, or needs Christ more then me... most of my friends appreciate my love
for Christ and enjoy talking to me about the scripture, some of them are Christians, many are
not, none of them are perfect, but then who is? But I'm not about finding out who's better,
who's more worthy, who needs salvation and who doesn't, who's a sinner and who isn't...
that's judging and that's not what the gospel is about, it's not about any person being worse
or better then any other, it is about all men being equal, it is about Gods love for for all, and his
gift of salvation for all.
God bless!
