He's far from the best. More than anything, his ego cost the Dolphins a championship during his run as QB there. He basically refused to let the Fish have a ground game.
If you want a pure gunslinger, yeah, Marino is your guy. If you want a real QB, a leader, he's not even in my top 10.

Refused????? I highly doubt it. Management didnt get him a running back. Im sure he was begging for a RB and a halfway decent defense and they didnt get both of them until he finally left.....but i dont think him finally leaving and them getting ricky had any correlation. Its unforunate.....cause if he just had a running game and a better defense, he may have won 2 or 3 superbowls.
Regardless.....even tho he didnt win the big one, that team had the best record through the 90's and he was the prime reason. I think they missed the playoffs maybe once or twice throughout the entire 90's.

Yes, refused. Many of his former teammates have commented on this. He may not have had a great back during his career, but he had some decent ones. He just always wanted the ball. He wanted to be the man, which is fine at the end of the game, but for the most part, the QB needs to delegate some of the responsibility to his running back.

if joe montana played as longa s marino, he would own all of his records. marino is def my man though, love him. but i think when all is said and done, peyton will be up there with marino and montana. i actually hate teh colts but i respect that guy. hes unbelievable. just watchin him is nuts. if he wins a title or two, hell def be considered teh best. so far, thast the only thing keepin him from that distinction.
ps. favre is good as hell and he has a ring too. but he isnt one of the best ever. id love to have him on my team, but he just isnt the best ever.

statisticaly speaking... dan mariono is first in nfl history on how many passyards thrown...
2nd place goes 2 john elway and 3rd goes 2 brett favre who is only 2000 yards away from elway and about 9000 from marino...but my favorite is favre go packers they just decapitated new orleans 52 to 3 or somethin

17 Doug williams of the washington redskins was the best qb ever. but he don't get credit cause they wanna hold the brother down. they say black qb's can't be the best ever. just like this thread. not one man mentioned was black.

Damn yall, I'm from Wisconsin and don't even fuck with Green Bay. Favre is in the top 5 fo sho but I gotta give mad props to Johnny Unitas. Granted, Bret Favre has a record with most consecutive starts that no one will be able to touch but for a couple of seasons he had to run the ball cause his throwin game wasn't all that. Y'all better be on the look out for Peyton Manning. He is on the rise and could very well go down as one of the greatest ever. He still young, give him a few years. Pz
