What up? I'm known around here for havin' some wicked lyrics. I'm lookin' to move onto recording. Wonderin' what all I should get to begin recordin' tracks. You know, like mics, mixers, equalizers, turntables, etc., etc.

What would you all suggest for a beginner an' about how much would it cost?

it depends on what kind of quality you want

you could get a audiophile 2496 for $90, a yamaha mg10/2 mixer for $100, and an AT2020 mic for $100 thats about $300, you'll still need headphones, cables, mic stands

if you don't want to open up your computer you can get an external interface like the M-audio fw410 or the presonus firebox or the Focusrite Saffire.
I got the firebox right now and its pretty nice.

If you want the cheapest just get a Samson Co1u mic that plugs into usb. Its only $69.
