You ever notice people , they get a job and eventually say , "i need more money , this job isn't doing it for me.. I need a better job". People keep saying that job after job trying to be better until they think they're at a right position. People don't ever think about anything around them, they're too busy trying to be " better people".

Why are humans like this.. what triggered this..

Umm, I think I know what you're saying.

It's just the way society is these days. The cost of living is constantly rising. I was watching The Notebook yesterday and the guy (he was poor) was having lunch with his girlfriend's family (who were rich) and they asked him how much he earned, he said 40c an hour. 40c an hour! Today that is NOTHING, that is SLAVE LABOUR! But he said it was enough for him. And of course the rich people were quiet after that.

Nowadays, you never have enough money to satisfy, always need to earn a thousand dollars more each fortnight and they'll "be happy".

People are a lot more superficial these days and when they have everything money can buy, they look for the priceless things. Like celebrities for example, they got the money, fame and fortune, but they aren't truly happy, they try hard to be "normal" and go for the "priceless" things.

I unfortunately am like that too, always wanting to earn more, but I am thinking realistically. $400 a week (what I earn now) is NOT going to to be enough to have a "comfortable" life if I decided to move out of home, I need to increase how much I earn to be comfortable financially. I DO NOT want to have bills that I cannot pay for, so I am still living with my parents. It's a personal goal and it's a goal I will achieve, my parents don't want me to struggle and I don't want to struggle either. Don't get me wrong, I don't wanna be a rich snob, I just want to live comfortably and be able to donate money when I want, instead of thinking about it beforehand, like I do now.

I really hope that is what you were talking about Cesar, if not, I look like an idiot. =X

well i dont know about all celebrities being superficial as you mentioned, and them being 'unhappy' that term is over-used nowadays as an excuse for us being below them, but most celebrities are just as happy as people making good money, 40,000-70,000 a year, my mom makes 55,000 a year and we are happy, we just have are times where we have to pay bills, but thats normal. People are to concerned with there personal issues and thats a major setback to being successful in finding a better job or going back to school. Now i see many people dropping out for no reason and not even getting there GED, then they go on and get minimum wage jobs and thats not satisfying, then they question 'why' they cant find anything better without having education. Education is the key to being successful, people gotta open there mind up a little bit and see the many different oppertunities that are available to them.

But don't you see how celebs and royals always say they want their children to grow up "as normal as possible", or when they go to a poverty stricken country to do volunteer stuff, the people don't know they are a celeb and the celeb feels "normal" for once. I'm didn't ALL of them are unhappy, but a majority of them are wanting a "normal" life.

I agree with the school thing, I hate how people in highschool nowadays quit because they're "bored" or "school's not for them", but then go from job to job, wishing they were rich, when we can't all be born into a rich family, we gotta work hard for it, and that's when we are more satisfied, when we work for our dream position in life or work.

Cesar, it's true, the Government doesn't let us get rich easily. Well, not in Australia anyway. The middle class people get taxed the most and get aimed at. Money is just an idea, but we have a lot of money in this country and it's the Government that stops us from being able to easily earn more money. Running a country is like running a successful business, sometimes I think they don't know what the hell they're doing. They have changed the unfair dismissal laws and I get really freaked out by it, small businesses that have less than 100 employees, the employees are not protected from unfair dismissal, I'm in a small business and it freaks the hell out of me. What if one day I skrew up majorly and get fired, I can't complain their reasons were unfair, I am not covered. I have plans that involve my job here and if I lose my job here, my plans will be like it got hit by a jackhammer and I would have to go back to square one and find another job elsewhere. Luckily, my bosses are really nice and understanding, but I still worry.

We always want more (at least in this society). We're always striving for something. If we're not trying to get more money, usually we're going after something else. We might go after degrees, or we might go after a good cause, self-improvement. Basically, there always seems to be something more that we want. Something bigger, better, different. Sometimes they're huge things we go after, other times it's just random little desires that we have. That's what seems to drive us all.... we all want something.

There's nothing wrong with trying to be a better person. Although, I think the problem comes into play with our varying ideas of what better actually is. For one being better is learning to control one's temper, for another it might simply be keeping up with the Jones.

But I will agree that we rarely take the time to really look at things around us. Especially in our society, we're too busy keeping ourselves entertained with anything shiny and new. But we all have different reasons for going after certain things. For some people it's to feel better about themselves and/or to impress others. Some... just haven't found their nitch in life. We all have our reasons. :-)

Im wokring on a revolution in my country, sort of liek what hitler did, however in mine, we will get rid of everybody who comes to australia but do not become australian, they stay the same, and we have to change for them, fuck that, you come here to be Australian, not for us to become what you were, my plan will revolve around deporting them back to their country, confiscating all there property and wealth in this country, and bringing back proper communism, with me as dicatotor, or atleast wiping out vast tracts of the ppl I dont like

Why are humans like this.. what triggered this..

Because the human brain is programmed to grow, to improve. It is human nature and you shouldn't really worry about it. Unless you want to change your life for the better, which we all can, then don't worry about it.

The saddest thing is to waste your life on this earth. That is why people are constantly trying to move.

What motivates you?
