First off, my expectations for this album were incredibly low after i saw that snoop dogg and bun b were involved with, snoop to me hasent done anything of worth in at least 10 years, and everything i have heard from bun b is garbage
1.Bloody Sunday(Ft Sen Dog And Big Left)-8/10-sick beat, good lyrics and verses by everyone for the most part, not really feeling big left
2.Get You By-9/10-Good Beat,sick flows
3.Bang Bang(Ft Snoop Dog)-9/10-Really good song, love the beat, all the rappers come well, its best that snoop didnt have a verse,he woulda ruined it
4.The Strain-10/10-Amazing song,great beat,everlast singing on the chorus,good rap verses
5.I'm A American(Ft B-Real)-8/10-Good song,only reason i didnt give it a 10 was b-real,just dosent sound all that great
6.Brujeria(Ft Sick Jacken)8/10-Dope beat,dope lyrics,good song
7.Once upon a time-6/10-My least favorite, still a good song just for some reason it really dosent catch me,cant explain it
8.Cousin Of Death-10/10-Another amazing song,great everlast singing,rap verses are good,amazing beat
9.Choose Your Side(Ft Bun B)9/10-Bun b surprised me,he wasent HORRIBLE, not great,a few parts of his verse made me cringe at how cheesy they were, but overall it wasent the worst i have heard, the rest of them come really good
10.Hardcore Chemical-9/10-Dope song,great beat,agressive song,everyone comes good
11.Soldiers Story(Ft Sick Jacken)-8/10-good song,cool beat,good verses,nothing to complain about
12.Gun In Your Mouth-10/10-Fucking love this song,really agressive,good verses,dope beat
13.Nuclear Medicineman(Ft Immortal Technique)-10/10-Really dope song,everyone comes good
14.Thats Coke(Remix)9/10-Great song,bumps nice,good beat,good vocals
15.Fuck Tony Montana-7/10-it was a good song for the first 200000 times i heard it for the past years,no reason for it to be on the album
Overal-9/10-Pleasantly surprised with this one, better then expected, the features didnt ruin it like i thought they would, the star of the show without a doubt is everlast,he rips this album to shreds

I wasn't expecting too much either from this album. I like LCN, but I'm not crazy about them. But overall, this album is dope. Def a solid debut.

what are they about
i see that guy wearing a baphomet t shirt
are they satanic??? wat are thier topics bout?????
Texas Rebel
07-10-2009, 03:57 PM
^^^Lol they are not satanic. You remember the old hip hop group House of Pain (Jump Around), then Everlast went solo with the hit What Its Like. Well, LCN is basically a reformed House of Pain, with the addition of former Non Phixion member ILL Bill, and Special Teamz member Slaine. If you have listened to Non Phixion, ILL Bill, or Jedi Mind Tricks, they are similar in style. The lyrics are considered "hard core" and "grimey", but no satanic shit. Check out a few tracks for yourself bro, and you judge if it is for you, but they are hands down my favorite hip hop group right now.

The shirt represents their Death Metal influences more so than worshiping Satan or anything like that lol. Ill Bill says a lot of Satanic things, but only for a dark/hardcore rhyme, not as if he really worships Satan.
Anyway, I listened to 11 songs before I was interrupted, and so far it's a very tight album. I think every song so far has been very solid atleast, some of them being really great. Love the Rock/Metal mixture.

Lol, being an Everlast fan (of his rap and rock/blues solo work) is what got me to look into LCN in the first place, then I became a fan of ILL Bill and Non-Phixion, then Slaine...which all in turn led to me hearing JMT, which I now love. So thank you Everlast.

Something doesn't seem right about 40 year old + white guys acting hard. Especially a failed country singer in Everlast. I suppose we all have our niches and gimmicks though.
Failed country singer? Hardly...
His music has never been "country"...it is a mix of hip hop, rock, and blues. And I am pretty sure he won a Grammy. I dont think any of his albums have been considered "failures", especially with hardly no promotion, tv or air play. Only his first album was really commercial, pretty much everything after that has been on the independent circuit, especially his most recent album. I mean, if you dont like his music, thats cool. But he is not a failure. Lol
And for the record, none of them are 40 yet...not until August.

I was afraid that their album would be garbage like their Mix Tape but was I ever wrong. La Coka Nostra is that product that I can trust. I think I like very song but two which is great in my eyes. They came correct, and for it I will support them.
Will the CD come with those 2 rap videos?

If I dl this and it's sub par like Relapse will you agree to let me ban you SF?
The score you gave Relapse hardly screams ''subpar'' to me, Eric.
How quick we forget. Right? lol
And this is La Coka Fucking Nostra. It's a banger if you're into this type of hiphop and have followed groups like Non-Phixion, Jedi Mind Tricks, etc...
If you hate this, hiphop just isn't for you. Unless you're into soft shit like Lupe.

Something doesn't seem right about 40 year old + white guys acting hard. Especially a failed country singer in Everlast. I suppose we all have our niches and gimmicks though.
But how is he 'acting hard'? You say this as if he could clean up his image and babysit kids for a living.
I never understood this mentality that something is a gimmick because they could be doing something else. Like what?
The music is a gimmick, just like every other forms of music out there. What would it be if it wasn't a gimmick?
Almost every genre of music needs a bag full of gimmicks. It's how you appeal to certain people.
But to say he's a gimmick, himself, for being near 40 and 'acting hard''. That's not a gimmick at all. That's just how he grew up, that's his life.
It's not like he should go to church every day, and drop his street mentality because he's older now.
If he did that, it would be a bitch move. Plus it doesn't pay his bills.

The age group of the group is in their 30's, Everlast the biggest "star" of the group is nearly 40 according to SF, I don't know for sure I didn't google it. When you're 40 years old, unless your a biker you're not hard anymore, there are no white gangsters putting in dirt at 40 years old, let alone 30.
But why does he have to be white? Why not just say once you're 40 you shouldn't act hard anymore? I'm not sure about your area, but if you're into this lifestyle, it doesn't matter if you're white, black, Hispanic, etc...
The fact that he's white doesn't make him any less hard than if he was him but with a darker complexion.
Just how I feel on that though. Not everyone is going to agree. I just know that just because you're a "minority", that doesn't make you any more ''hard'' than a white dude who's living the same struggles as you. I see them everywhere. I don't think any less of them because of their lifestyle.
I'll be the first to admit that the whole street life isn't my style. But I understand why it exists.
I might be there if things don't change for me. =( I would just prefer to ignore it.
And what are you talking about drop his street mentality, he did that ten years ago in an excuse to try to reach a new audience, which didn't work as well as he thought it would, one big single and he was gone. Thats kinda Everlasts whole career a big single then that group is done with, it sucks cus he does have talent, but I just cannot take a middle age white male rapping about drugs and guns and trying extra hard to look badass in their promo pics It's just a major gimmick. And while I said everyone has a niche and a gimmick I think that they coulda figured something better out other than this, Everlast as a countryish singer type was cool, I enjoyed his one single that I remember, if he woulda continued on that path, maybe mixed it up with some rap artsist as features and do a whole new thing in the mainstream with country/blues and rap. But instead he has to try and relive his glory days from 20 years ago when he was telling people to jump around and be Irish.
But now you're just telling him what kind of artist you want him to be, in order for you to enjoy him. Which would alienate a bunch of his fans haha. I can see where you're coming from. I feel that way about a lot of artists. But we can't always have it our way.
But for him, this whole street thing works for him. He grew up on the streets, and it's not going to leave him because he's older now. Walking away from that life would be better for his safety. But it's not for everyone to leave behind.
Thing about House of Payne is, their biggest single was one of their weakest songs haha. The whole jump around thing wasn't really House of Payne.
I remember when I first saw them, I nutted in my pants because I saw Irish dudes representing, and this was at a time when I wasn't even sure of my other half. So in my mind, these dudes were Irish dudes who grew up on the streets, and at the time I was sleeping on benches outside. I was young. But I just thought it was cool that they'd represent like this. Just wish people knew of them outside of Jump Around.
And I gave Relapse what a 6 or 7? That may be ok to you but It didn't last more than a week on my HD cept for Underground and Beautiful which are both solid songs. The rest? Not so much.
You gave Relapse a 7/10 which is far from subpar no matter how you judge and score albums.
Of course it didn't last more than a week on your HD. You burned it to CD-R and bump it in your whip almost every day.
I'm be the first to say that my taste in music is TOTALLY different than most of the people on here, the only person that comes reasonably close would be Fieldy. But when I see a silly gimmick, no matter who it is even if it's a band or group or singer I like I'm calling them on it. All this is a mid-life crisis on record. It may be a great record but thats all it is to me :aim-kissing:
I have some crazy taste in music, myself. But I don't ever talk about the artists I listen to, because for the reason you mentioned. It's different than what most of the members here listen to. But it's still Hiphop, or [insert other genres here]
I think all gimmicks are ''silly'', though. But I know they sell records. Just like the stuff you and Fieldy are into, while cool to me, are the definition of gimmick. But it's not a negative. In fact, it works, and allows me to enjoy it more.

For the record, he DID continue his path..its just that the "mainstream" did not want it on the radios...but that shouldnt stop you from listening to the albums, if that is what you like to hear. Don't be a tool and wait for the industry to tell you that its good. He as released 4 albums with this style of music, and he plans to do more. He just released his most recent one last year, all while he was still recording for LCN. His solo albums DO mix it up with rap, rock, country, and blues, and he has had some rap artists on his solo albums ie. B-Real on "Soul Assasins".

Hell yeah. I got it bright and early Tuesday morning, and I have probably played the entire cd at least 10 times...this is easily the best hip hop/rap album I have bought since The Cool, and I think I might like it a little more. I even had my boy listen to it, and he is now a LCN fan...and this dude usually only gets down to Chicano rappers like Lil Rob, Kid Frost, etc. He is a pretty closed minded guy when it comes to music, but he loves this cd.
