ok i record my vocals and when i go to mix it down with the beat the vocals are always to loud for the beat how do i make them the same so they sound right. the track i'm working on has a guys vocals alreadyy in the first verse and my vocals just dont match his by how loud my vocals are. can someon please help me with this.

turn the vocals down, you probably need to use some compression to take away some of the dynamics, then eq your vocals to sit in the beat correctly

you can get some directx plugins or you can use the compressor inside CoolEdit.
I haven't been on Cool Edit in a while but its called dynamic processor. I don't really like that compressor, you should look for some others to download.

if you can find it use the waves diamond bundle or the Nomad Blue Tubes Factory Bundle, they both have nice compressors in them

there are a couple of free that work really good but I don't know the name off the top of my head. Search on http://www.kvr-vst.com/

Shit, which compression is there in cool edit? there is one that is called "Gate That Compressor" or something like that, is that it? I was kinda doubtful because it increases tha db by 19.... so idk... somebody let me know please.... ~1~

first off same prog diff name.. n its called "simple compressor" jus dl it an install it to the effects
