...I'll start off by stating this concert was tight. Having said that, it wasn't in the top-tier of the BTNH shows I've seen of theirs. I'd say more 'middle-of-the-pack'. Don't get me wrong, it was a tight show. It really was. But, something like the Grey Goose Tour CHI show ... tha was one of the best. They played, not in order (I may be missing a track or two):

Clog Up Yo Mind
TRB
No Surrender
FTLO$
East 1999
Mo' Murda
1st Of Tha Month
Tha Crossroads
IICTTW
Blaze It
Thug Luv
Notorious Thugs
Ridin' Dirty
Weed Song
Days of Our Livez
Thug Stories

*Now, I chatted with Ice for a few minutes ... and he told me that he received a call from Swizz (who received a call from Interscope) to NOT play ANY tracks off the Interscope LP. Apparently, Swizz & Ice caught a little heat from it. I then chatted with Ice quite a bit about the Interscope LP. He actually cut himself off from talking b/c he said I already know way too much. So, unfortunately they will not be playing any Interscope tracks any time soon at concerts. Last thing they want to do is piss off Interscope.

*BTW, during sound-check (a couple hours before the doors even opened) Ice DID play part of a track from the Interscope LP (ironic, I know). Let me just say, Layzie tore the track up. Wow. This is the Layzie I've been waiting for YEARS to hear again. Gets me pumped for the Intercope LP.

*I ended up meeting Krayzie Bone again ... gave me a couple more auto's for the few cd's I hadn't yet had signed by him (trying to get all of them signed, solo's, group, etc). I may have a couple more to go.

*Krayzie Bone made sure he spoke on the BTNH/Twista old situation. Krayzie stated that it's gonna be 'Bone & Twista', and that Twista is 'his boy', that the beef is more-than-over (as we all knew). But, being in Chicago ... he made that point clear. Krayzie must've said at least twice that Twista's his boy.

*Shout-out to PHAT from the board. I think there were a few others from the board, not sure who. All good, though.

I'll add a few more things as I remember them.

my thoughts:

first act, ace mack, was real good.

second act, whoever they were, sucked. they also need a lesson on self promotion because I don't think they ever said their name. they also had some budget t-shirts with the mo thugs and thugline logos. not sure if they're actually affiliated. they are from chi tho.

bone came out to clog up yo mind, which is my fav song so i was hyped.

- wish looked like plain wish
- kray looked like thug mentality 1999 kray
- layzie looked kinda mexican

- it was a good live show, but it still felt very rehearsed (like they might accidentially call us New York) and the same as every other show they've done (and will do) on this tour. I know many artists do that, but come on...

- bizzy is clearly missing. when you're singing along and his verse gets cut out, it sucks and leaves everyone disappointed. he also adds a different element to the live show since he gets so animated and has that voice

- that said, the group will be fine moving forward as they create new hits without him, it's just hard to go with old songs and try to forget about him

- the one "crowd participation" part was when they asked what people wanted to hear. a guy in the front said 'thug stories' so they played it. i was hoping for 'fire'. when they asked what we wanted to hear, i kept screaming 'when thugz cry' just to be an ass and get a reaction. i was too far away.

- i love their live version of mo murda. the hook is great.

- they act like BTNHresurrection and Thug World Order never came out. I think Weed Song was played and kray's verse in Ridin' for only songs from the new millenium.

i was on the second level, dead center, right in front. white guy in orange shirt.

illmatic, what was some of the stuff that ice confirmed?

...I just posted this reply in a different thread (to Joe's ?):

...Well, what I can share is that we discussed collabo's etc. (he verified Big Boi, Kanye, Three-6, etc). I asked him about Chamillionaire, and he said yes. I asked him if Cham just does the chorus and he said nodded 'yes', but I'm thinking he didn't hear the full ? ... because he was excited and started to describe the sound/vibe of the album ... but he stopped discussing the album ... and reiterated that Interscope is p*ssed about them playing a track off the LP on the tour. I asked him if it was going to be a double LP or single ... and he kind of side-stepped the ?. I think they have so many tracks done, they're not even sure what to do yet.

...From what Ice said, and by his facial expressions were when he told me ... yeah. Interscope found out about the video leaking to the 'net (courtesy of someone on this board). lol. I believe Interscope called Swizz, and Swizz called Ice. I think it was yesterday Ice got the call. H*ll, it might've even been while he was at H.O.B.

To add to the review, HOB were the ones to tell Bone to STOP at the end. You could see them in the background giving different hand signals, etc. They were putting the pressure on Bone's agent, who then put the pressure on Ice to stop performing. Layzie didn't want to leave, I know he didn't. You could tell.

I have to honestly say that this concert was the least impressive that i have ever seen them do. i have seen them 6 times now and this was the shortest that they have ever played. it was exactly like last year but with less music. they did play thug stories but that was the last song off of that album that i wanted to hear. they barely came with any "hard songs" they played a lot of slow songs like dayz of our livez crossroads and if i could teach the world. i dont know about you guys but when i see bone i want to see them rip it up! its always fun seeing bone dont get me wrong but it was just not as good as other performances. also the thugline mixtape cd they are selling SUCKS. there are a couple of good krayzie songs, also "just ring me" from streets most wanted and "smoke all day" from budsmokers only, wicked kneights from KR and a bunch of other jobber tracks. they had a thugline jacket for sale which was tight as hell. on the back it had krayzie bone and wish bone present and then a huge TL logo. they also had the shoes on display. the white and black and the white and red. they said that they should be availible by christmas. they had keychains for sale and on the back was btnhworld.com i went to the site and it says coming soon for bone thug merch.

I wish they would have mixed a bit up different then last year. Like I said in the other thread a lot of the things were much the same.

I found it ironic when they came out, DJ said "We're going to do things a bit different, is that ok? I want you to put your hands in the air, and when I say Sit back, you say and do what?", same exact entrance as last year even though it is a good way to get started and a good song to come out with. Same as "The Krayzie J" said they played more slow songs-Dayz of our lives and If I could teach the world, as much as I love those songs, wish they would have played their more hardcore stuff and a bit of harmonizing with Mr. Quija.

I like the fact that Krayzie brought up Twista and their beef, and how it's officially over and Twista will be featured on an upcoming album. What did Layzie mean by "Thug Stories will be their last 'independant' album?" I was a bit thrown off by that statement and what was meant. If anyone knows please explain. HoB wasn't nearly as crowded as last year, which is good, and the crowd was much more pumped making it great.

I was wondering why the concert was so short, I was dissappointed with that. Like last year (as stated) they did tributes to pac, easy and biggie. They didn't give as big of a tribute to Flesh this year. Last year they did a whole skit for him before going into No Surrender. "Thug Stories" was a good performance, I would have loved "Still No Surrender" instead but that's just personal opinion.

It's great to go to a Bone concert and see the BIG variety of fans. In the middle by the sound board was a guy with a huge spiked mohawk, I had to laugh when I saw it, but just shows how great Bone is. I had my usual space right next to the column on the right when you first walk up the stairs drinking my Heinekens.

Overall I give it 1.7:thumbup: out of 2 and, of course, worth every penny!

...I assume he means, overall last 'Indy LP'. The last Indy label release. Meaning, the rest will be on major labels (mainly, Interscope). Since Layzie dropped his Hi-Power solo, the INAG (I believe this was an Indy, too), etc. Unless he's talking about the Bone4Life cd, too. Not sure. But I took it as the rest of their releases (group & solo) would be along-side MAJOR labels.

Hope that helps.

bartender told me they sold 600 tickets for the 1300 capacity venue.

...I think that was due to the fact it was booked not too long before the show. They usually have a few months to promo the concert, etc -- but this was like ... what?, 1 1/2 I believe?!

Since the bartender told you they sold 600, I believe that figure was w/o the ticket purchases day-of. They had alot of walk-ins buying tickets. I'm sure that added to the total nicely.

...Yeah, it was pretty cool to chat with a fellow board member. I was able to meet Kray again (which is all I wanted), so it was all good with me. I noticed Ice flashin' the cash you guys paid him to get on that bus, how much did he charge you guys? He was cheesin' like a little kid with that $.

Also, send me some details (PM me if you want/can). Again, good to meet you.

Whoa, that is shitty. I can't believe they charge people to hang out with them.

Funny how most people here fail to mention that when telling their stories, they always make it sound like Bone wanted to hang out with them.

That's worse than joining a fraternity in college.

Yeah, I remember him saying that but he was probably joking around...we didn't have to pay him anything.:) Why would Ice want money from fans when he had 10K in his pocket?

...I have no idea. But, I'm certain I saw some fans from the concert hand $ over to him. I was gonna tell you it was shady of him to do so, but I'm glad you weren't one of the people he charged. He walked to the bus with a group of people that had just given him $, dropped them off ... and walked off the bus.

As far as him wanting money, ... well, let's just say I've seen Bone's entourage at numerous other concerts telling fans he was charging them. I've been backstage with them, hotels, VIP, etc ... and I've definitely overheard them mention it a few times.

Oh well ... anyway, glad you had a good time. I'll see you at the next concert.

PM me, if you can, with an after-concert review.

...No, the concert vid where they performed a new track. I believe it was 'In The Trunk'. Apparently, the vid you're talking about is from a new Bone Bros. LP.
