i just found out that he has bladder cancer n that if its spread he's as good as gone......its a rare form of cancer apparently, im gonna move back in for a while when he starts to get surgery n Chemotherapy coz he wont be able to do alot of things on his own, they basically gave him a long painful death sentence, he's 48, and im not looking forward to the road ahead.....im dwelling on this shit n its making me angry, but hey i guess everyone dies in the end, thought id share since this is the "Life Discussion"

I'm sorry. My grandma had cancer...it was so hard to watch her go through all the pain.

Hopefully you dad will pull through, just be there for him...all those treatments take a lot out of them.

Not much you can do really, just put your faith in the doctors and whatever kinda god you might beleive in. Be there for him when he needs your help with anything and just enjoy your time with him you know.

yea definitly be there for him thats the number one thing im proud of is that i was with him everyday for a few hours since i had to be in school and stuf. you cant look back and have regrets....definitly be there
know that how you see him during chemo is not going to be pleasent as he will be quite sick. im happy i didnt have to go through that becasue my dad wanted to enjoy what he had left instead of being sick. either way its still very hard

I'm sorry to hear that hun. I really do hope that he's about to pull through. Not sure how his insurance is, or how his money is... but it might help to look into some of the better cancer treatment centers. A friend of the family's daughter had cancer at a very young age, and the were positive that she wasn't going to make it. But the proper care she pulled through just fine. :) I hope everything turns out well. I'm also glad to hear that you are being supportive. There are a lot of people that don't try to be. Either they don't care, or just don't know how.

But I wish your father a speedy recovery, and all the best for you and yours.

sorry to hear that... 48 is so young too :( My aunt is the same age and started out with breast cancer, but now it has spread too much, and has bone cancer now... and it's stage 4 :( ....and the doctors say there's nothing else that they can do... so she has to be on chemo for the rest of her life.... I hope she'll at least win her lawsuit... she's suing her first doctor because when she asked him about the lump in her breast he told her it was nothing to worry about... but if he would have done his job and ran the tests, then they would have caught it soon enough, before it spread... stupid fucking doctor... :x
Also my grandma died from brain cancer when I was 5.
I hate cancer, it's not fair... so I feel you.
