For the people who seen it......just wanting to know your thoughts.....
I thought it was a good fight...it was split decision to Mayweather which wasn't a bad call, but i think it should have been a draw, because Oscar "pushed the action" the whole fight(threw a lot more punches)....mayweather did show good counter-punching the whole fight....but he pretty much ran/backed up the whole fight.......oscar wanted to bust his head, but mayweather wouldn't let him.....it was decided by one point......i want to see a rematch:-D

2 me the fight sucked. Yes it was close. Yes I think Mayweather won, BARELY, did he beat the champ? NO. I dont think he did. He looked more like the guy defending a belt than going for it. He landed at a higher percentage but threw way less. Not at all did it seem like he wanted to step toe to toe or atleast attempt to punish De la Hoya as he said he would. De la Hoya was on the attack and when he was poppin the jab he was destroying Mayweather. He never should have stopped doing that. The flurry's looked great but thats what it was, looks. He managed to land some solid shots but Mayweather was slick enough to avoid getting in trouble. All and all the fight was decent but not up to par where both fighters are able to bring it to. De la Hoya looked tired after the 4th round and I believe that after a year of inactivity no matter who you are its going to leave ring rust. De la Hoya swears he can do that especially at his age he comes in for 1 big fight a year and then leaves. He cannot contend with big fighters that are active because he wears down. Either fighter could have taken the fight. Depends if you like agression or if you like evasiveness without fighting. Maybe a draw would have been better. The queston does remain though, If De la hoya hadn't pressed the fight would there have been one? I am not a fan of either guy and i used to like both of them. I had no favorite for this fight and i was truly dissapointed with how it went down. A rematch would be good if both fighters showed up not just one and if both fought the way we all know they can. for another fight like the one we just witnessed i would want my money back.

Oh yeah i almost forgot. The last 5 seconds were the best moments in the fight. thats how it should have been.

The fight was rather boring.
Good fight and amazing performance by Mayweather. He's a fucking genius . He did not "massacre" oscar, but he did dominate him. I give oscar props though. He did push the fight. While those flurries of punches where pretty. They where not effective. But they did please the crowd. Though the casual crowd needs to understand that, that does not win fights lol. Oscar was mentally and physically frustrated by the 5-th round.
Floyd run? did you see his punch stats? Tell me how someone can do that by running. It's called being smart. In boxing you are suppost to hit and not get hit. I understand that does not please the casual crowd. But when he's in there, they both risk there lives and future health.
38 have tried and 38 have failed. Mayweather can back up the talk. One of the greatest that ever lived
I'm ready to the Wink Wright and Hopkins fight

Did anyone else hear that announcer saying some bullshit like "These fighters are more athletic than any other sport like mixed martial arts" or something of that nature, I didn't actually hear it, I just heard about it, fuck that guy he is an idiot. His co-announcer even disagreed with him and made him look stupid.
^^ yea it was Jeremy Lampley i believe is his name (he was also the guy who beat up a woman before)
he is the so called God of Boxing Knowledge
the guy who disagreed with him is reportedly the one who is going to be commentating the UFC HBO events

I would'nt say he ran. He was just boxing smartly. He did land shots and managed to move which is what u wanna do. It was just a sorry performance by both.

Exactly. Mayweather was boxing smartly and he did just enough to get the win. I could see how it could have went either way though I guess. Overall, the fight was extremely boring and never was a chance for a knockout at any part of the fight. I am a Mayweather fan, but I expected a better showing out of him. He's been jumping weight classes alot and it seems to have slowed him down considerably. All in all, the fight sucked and I was disappointed in Mayweather and I guess next year we will prolly see a rematch.
*yawns*... :)

Mayweather beat Oscar.Oscar was more agressive, and he was throwing lots of punches, but Mayweather was dodging them like crazy.Oscar will get Floyd on the ropes and still miss shots.I adit Floyd didn't do much in this fight he just kept the jab on him and bounced around. If Oscar would of got hold to Floyd he would of knocked him on the ground though

the extra weight did not slow him down at all he was just as fast as he was in his last fights

Ok, I can see your point. But, I think it made him a bit more sluggish. I just didnt see the "typical" Mayweather type fight from him.
im gonna miss Rogan n Goldberg announcing, but at least Max Kellerman is gonna be doing it :)

IMO the fight sucked Mayweather just threw one punch then ran away. De La Hoya wasn't so good either, he just followed Mayweather around the ring rarely using his jab looking for one punch.
