A sci-fi shooter that takes place on a mysterious alien ring world, Halo: Combat Evolved is an action-packed experience that allows players to battle their enemies on foot and in vehicles with alien and human weaponry. The production of Halo has a long and tumultuous history. The title was originally designed as a breakthrough game for Apple's Mac systems, and console versions of the game also became a high-priority project for the development team when it signed with Take-Two. As all PlayStation 2 owners are aware, however, production on Halo was shifted immediately to an Xbox version in 2000 when Take-Two Interactive sold its 20% share of developer Bungie to Microsoft. Thereby solidifying Halo's position as an Xbox and PC exclusive (with a Mac port much, much later on) forever.
whats it matter....halo sucks right? and microsoft had no idea of knowing the impact halo would have....it wasnt a good title YET. was just a way to screw sony out of a game

Well the artcile said, when the game started turning a lot of heads, Microsoft snatched it up.
And yeah I really don't care. I just was on the PS2 page of IGN and noticed the top 10 looked at pages, number 2 was Halo and I was like WTF? So I clicked it and thought it was interesting enough to post.

lmao you make no sense at all
If the game wasn't a good franchise yet how the hell were they screwing Sony? MS saw the that the game had potential and bought the rights. This happens every day in business, MS just hit the gold on this one.
