^the fruits basket anime has nothing on the manga. If you want to get into FB, the manga is the way to go. The anime doesnt even capture a shred of the magic seen in the book.

After Yu Yu Hakusho, FB is my fav story, even more so than Dragonball. Its incredible.

I didn't like it. Nothing happened or changed. We saw the cats true forum and thats it. At the end nothing changed. I was thinking it was going to be they find a way to break the curse but nope.
Akito had a slight change of heart but really nothing. Rather boring.

^the anime only covers about a quarter of the actual story. Much, much more happens afterward. Alot of fans complain about the fact the anime ends at that point because it feels like the end of a show's first season rather than the entire series itself.

Just watched Shuffle! Man, this show was absolutely fantastic. From beginning to end. I am totally satisfied with it. The story moved along so perfectly. Alot of heart felt moments, some laughs, some serious shit.

From the time where Rin was over Osawah's house and they had that moment I was wanting him to get with her. Never does my predictions or wants play out in an anime was I was actually kind of shocked when it came to fruition.Main it got tense a couple of time. Kaedae is fucking lunatic but I couldn't help feeling sorry for her. While the show was very loose for the first 12 episodes or so, it quickly took a serious turn, while still having humorous moments.

While the anime is described as 2 girls, the daughter of the King of Gods, and the daughter of the King of Demons, come to the human world to compete for Rin's heart. While the first 12 episodes or so dealt with that you soon forget they are there for about 6-7 episodes lol. As I was liking the show from the beginning, I was thinking it was going to be one of those typical animes where they fight over him and at the end nothing ever changes, it goes off with him not choosing anyone and they are still where the show left off. But the show progressed nicely and forward progression did occur in this one. Unlike Fruits Basket.

Before Rin and Osawah got together I was thinking she was going to die from that illness but when they got together I knew they weren't going to kill her off. I didn't expect her mother to be the test subject that was believed to have died, that surprised me. When they squared away the problems with Kaedae I was thinking, well what are the last few episodes going to be about. But then Osawah got sick again. I was still thinking a little bit toward the end that she was going to die. Since the show had taken a more serious turn.

The only thing that I didn't like was the fact that she wouldn't use her magic. They just didn't give a good reason as to why not at all. I could tell if it was that if she uses it, her mother would die, or she wouldn't be able to control it and could destroy the town, or something. But she had no good reason at all.

I really love these Harem Animes, if anyone had any good ones to recommend, I would appreciate it.
I don't mind the real silly ones. But I would like one that is kind of like this. Funny moments and such, but a nice progressing story. and some seriousness thrown in.

Just finished watching Cat Planet Cuties. I liked it actually. No matter how silly. I'm just really into these types of animes right now. They make me happy lol.

So I'm going to watch xxxHolic while you guys recommend me some more Harem type animes. Preferably from the 2000's lol. I don't much like old anime but if you think I would like it then I will watch it.

I also watched Love Hina a while back. I liked it almost as much as Shuffle!

    So please guys, recommend away.

Just finished watching Mahoromatic, and what the fuck? How could such a great anime end so tragic. And by tragic I don't mean sad, I mean shitty. That was the worst ending to an anime that I have ever seen. Him hating all androids just because Mahoro died. It's not like she chose to die or like it was even her fault. Thats just the way she was built. And what was with the whole set up with Minawa and that chick when Minawa asked for Mahoro to be saved first and she said she will be fine, like there was some secret that we didn't know and she wasn't going to die after all.

I read what the Manga ending was and it sounds so much fucking better than that shit anime was. But it was still 20 years in the future but he still lived on Earth and so his friends and what not. The Anime was just dumb. Why abandon everyone. Especially if he knew Minawa was going to come back, who was to take care of her. Dumb shit. At least in the Anime she still came back.

I would have much rather had it like, she either survived and they show life getting back to normal or she doesn't survive and they show a few months down the line with him and Minawa trying to live without her with the help of his friends. Anything would have been better than what was shown. It just left me frustrated. They could have at least shown everybody 20 years later, why does Shikijo get the only cameo, that was so dumb. The whole episode was just making me pissed off from the beginning. And I didn't really get the end, when she came back did they go back to 20 years ago or were tehy just playing audio of what it would have been like if she didn't die? I didn't understand because the last scene had them back to 20 years in the future on that dead planet

Aside from that last episode I enjoyed the Anime alot.

BTW, I watched xxxHolic and I found it to be boring as shit lol. But on that note I see there is a second series and I wonder if it will ever get dubbed, it doesn't seem like it, maybe the first anime wasn't successful enough here. Also, I didn't watch the movie after I saw that it took place in the beginning of the series.

I wonder if things advanced in the second anime. That was the only thing. Nothing happened in the Anime. So boring.

What the hell did all my Anime buddies go. I feel like I'm just talking to myself now. I might need to join an anime forum to discuss Anime since this thread is dead.

I just watched Angel Beats and it was alright. A bit confusing. It never explained why they started attacking Angel in the first place.

And the ending was kind of sad. But I guess the ending after the credits suggested that they met again. I don't know if it was they knew each other or he recognize the song she was singing. Either way it gave me hope.

Also, the thing I hate about some Anime is that the go through the whole series and then a couple years later they make an OVA that takes place in the beginning or halfway through the series which pisses me off. It always makes me think that it takes place after the last episode but it never does. I need to stop thinking that since it is rarely ever the case.

    Finished Kanon 2006.

It was absolutely amazing. It takes the place of Shuffle on my list now. This anime had a fantastic story, it had it's very sad moments, its funny moments, it's happy moments. This was a great anime. I didn't see that ending coming with her being Alive. Some amazing story telling for sure. It kept me wanting more, I was almost late for work because I couldn't leave without watching the last episode because I would have been antsy all night lol. I love the quick flash backs that made you anticipatee what that memory could have been of.

It had a happy ending but to me it was far from cliche, it kept the theme of miricles do happen.

I love it. I give it a 10/10. Best romance type anime I've seen.

Alright, anime that you should check out. I've got plenty to name, but I'll name just a few for now.

    1. Berserk
    2. Gantz
    3. Tokyo Tribe 2 (This show combines Hip-Hop with Gangland Warfare)
    4. Higurashi No Naku Koro Ni
    5. Tenchi Muyo and Ryo-Oh-Ki
    6. Ai Yori Aoshi
    7. Magical Shopping Arcade Abenobashi (Two things, watch the English Dub, and after the first episode the show gets crazy)
    8. Mad Bull 34 (If you can find it)
    9. Denpa Teki No Kanojo (It's one of those shows that was too good to last.)
    10. Isekai no Seikishi Monogatari (You'd want to watch Tenchi Muyo first, but the show is great.)

Originally I was going to add text to this, but I'll let your minds fill in the gaps of what the hell is up with this pic.

I'm going to definitely check some of these out.
I think I watched Tenchi in Tokyo. I thnk it was the original ova series. Then I started watching another where he went off to school or something but I never got passed like the first 2 episodes but I did watch the entire original and loved it.

I'm going to check out some of your recommendations. Mainly the ones I can find in English lol.

Tenchi In Tokyo wasn't the original. Tenchi Muyo and Tenchi Muyo Ryo-Oh-Ki are the only ones that are canon. Everything outside of those are just there because they ran out of ideas. It makes the Tenchi Universe which is another show hard to understand unless someone points this out to you. Oh, and Tench Muyo GXP is also canon but follows another character. A very funny series, I'd check that out as well. I don't support English Dubs often, the only time I do is when they are incredibly good, or funny.

One Dub that was extremely good I would say is Black Lagoon.

I hope they make more anime for that. That is one of my favs.

They did a real good job of that. Speaking of dubs though. Of all the anime that I did list, the one I'm surprised didn't get an English Dub is Tokyo Tribe 2. That series would've been ripe for it.

I made the mistake of watching the first season of Familiar of Zero and now I see that the other 3 seasons will not be dubbed which pisses me off because I really liked it and would love to continue it. But at least if I leave it at season 1 then I'm satisfied.
