The songs on Law of Attraction didn't really deserve any radio play. Not that I co-sign anything on the radio today, but I just didn't really dig LOA...and I felt like Lay was pandering, unsuccessfully, to today's young audience.

Lay is at his best on BTNH songs and most times as a featured artist, but he's not a great solo artist. Nope, if I were the radio programmers I wouldn't play his solo stuff either.

u gotta understand, local radio stations arent targeting you. they are targeting teenagers and soccer moms who haul said teenagers around.......just becaseu they dont play your kinda music doesnt mean major labels are paying them not to play it. this is the worse conspiracy theory ive ever heard. ffs if bone wanted on the radio, they would go get a single on the radio. its nobodys fault for them. ive taken many clean songs ive produced straight to my local station and theyve put it right in with regular rotation. its not hard to do as long as the content fits the demographic........

Dude, you're way off base. Radio stations are most certainly NOT targeting soccer moms. Their primary demographic, I'd say, is from tween to late 20's/early 30's. And local communities are NOT paying the radio stations' bills—advertisers and labels are. When was the last time you sent a check to your radio station?? Sure, there are some artists that are so dominant that radio stations will play their music no matter what—I mean, why wouldn't they? They'd lose listeners if they didn't play Kanye's latest.

But please don't be so naive as to believe that one corporate hand (record labels) doesn't wash the other (radio). It's big business.

Dont know why they dont realize when promoted properly it sells sooooo much more (S&L went platinum if im not mistaking).. It just takes hundreds of thousands to promote on a nationwide level so its a gamble... Hopefully Ruthless will promote this new album properly!! Actually Bizzy said their workin on the 20th anniversery PROJECT with Ruthless and didnt mention what him, lay and stack r doin. He told me he wanted to use "Play That Music" for the new project with the FELLAS so who knows. Sumthin is comin tho def. Also I think frank Nitty is releasing a Bizzy album with the originals to Crossroads 2010 cuz apparently Sumerian Records bought the accapellas from Nitty and remixed them by puttin Rockish beats behind him. Nitty has the originals (look into the soul, stonehenge, etc etc).. Hopefully they will be in the public eye again soon, sooooo much talent that the new generation dont respect cuz people think if their not on radio and TV their NOT GOOD ENOUGH... Its really a Business issue..

only thing worth listening to on the radio is the jazz station (that has ZERO commercials) and the classic rock n roll station

    other than that? mp3 player!

Yea well maybe because they didn't release a record until 4 years later. If they stayed on interscope they probably would of made them put a new album out a lot quicker to build up their buzz. Since they got dropped and took forever they lost all their hype. That's what Bone does.

LOL!!! wow. you can't be serious... i have to disagree with you.

Why is it that Snoop Dogg and other LA artists have had demonstrations and strikes against local radio stations like Power 106 because they don't support local artists and won't play their music?

Why is it that E-40 and other bay area artists cannot get their music played here locally? E-40s manager tried getting 106 kmel and wild 949 to play his single "Bitch" featuring Too Shor and they wouldn't until the single was hot and 50 cent got on the remix version?

Why is it that a lot of well known artists in NYC such as Wu Tang, Nas cannot get their shit played over there? There was a discussion about this years ago how radio won't play their local artists because it's all politics and radio stations are bought off.

I know how radio stations in CA and in NYC work, but i wouldn't really know anywhere else, but i'm sure it works like anywhere else.
When gangsta rap was popular and artists were signed to BIG major labels, why do you think the radios would keep that kind of music on heavy rotation back in the days? Because the majors were paying the radio stations to keep their artists on rotation... that's what was hot and i'm pretty sure DJ's played what they wanted sometimes then.

music has changed and gangsta rap isn't as popular anymore. so, the majors sign what's hot and they pay radio stations and it's a cycle. It's all business. I know a few DJ's who have personally told me they cannot play any local artists or anything else since they already have a known artist(s) with a single locked in for a few weeks or so. It's all politics now.

by the way, this happens to every generation. folks who grew up in the 70s, the 80s didn't play their music and the 90s didn't play 80s and 00's didn't really play 90s and so on.... of course i don't listen to the radio station. i have my cd's and my zune player to keep me entertained. record labels use to target me as an audience, but that has changed and i'm fine with it.

1 thing though. radio stations do not target any crowds at all. record labels target teenagers and music that'll appeal to today's crowd. radio stations just play what they are told to play from the boss upstairs. like they say, "Money talks, bullshit walks"
i can't believe you said the communities keep afloat with donations and all that bs...lol not here in cali.
