Users trying to upload or link an image to their signature have received an
error similar to this:
Since we switched servers, this error has occurred and we are looking into a
permanent fix. In the meantime, you can still insert images into your signature
by using BBCode. I will show you how to do just that.
That's okay. We have a way around that!
*Please follow all steps correctly*
GETTING STARTED:
STEP 1:
Click 'Settings' located at the top of the Forum, right next to your username,
Notifications, Log Out, etc... (As highlighted light blue in the picture below)
STEP 2:
On this page you should see a box on the left hand side titled 'My Settings'.
Inside that box is the option 'Edit Signature', click it. (As highlighted yellow in the picture below)
STEP 3:
On this page you should then see a box titled 'Edit Signature' with options such as
Font, Size, Color, & etc... (Refer to picture directly below)
If you have made it this far, you're golden! Now, let's move on...
(Not much more to go, just sit tight.)
READY?
You should have your 'Edit Signature' box in front of you (refer to picture above), ready
to add some code.
*Before you add anything into your signature, make sure it is completely blank. This way,
we are 100% sure that there are absolutely NO incorrect characters, or
added mistakes.*
Let's begin.. (Oh, and I'll try my best to help you understand exactly what's going on here!)
ADDING IMAGES USING BBCODE:
STEP 1:
First, let's upload a SWEET picture of Bone Thugs N Harmony; I'm going to use TinyPic.
You can use whichever image uploading site or a URL of your choice. If you are using an
image uploading site, they usually provide the proper code to insert into forum signatures.
You can go ahead and grab that. Personally, I like to use the direct link, that way you avoid
any ads or unnecessary annoying links.
If uploaded correctly, there should be a direct link similar to this:
'http://i45.tinypic.com/xxxxx.jpg' (xxxxx representing the file name)
STEP 2:
Now that you have your direct link copied, click the option 'Insert Image' from the options located
under the 'Edit Signature' title, & paste into the pop up box.
Example 1:
Example 2:
STEP 3:
Click 'OK', and you should see the following text in your 'Edit Signature' box:
If you do not see text, but you do see a picture, that's okay. It just means you have
'Source Mode' enabled, instead of 'Editor mode'.
To switch between the two just click thebutton. You'll notice text switching
to actual view, and vice versa.
STEP 4:
Now, click 'Preview Signature' below the editor box and watch the magic happen.
The page will refresh, and you should be able to now view how your signature will
look like while posting in the forums. If you did this correctly, it should look something
like this:
By the way, you can adjust the position of the image from the options in the editor box.
'Left, Center, Right' options are located directly to the right of [ B I U ].
Also, we encourage you to add text of your choice. Remember to keep it clean!!
Maybe you have a favorite movie quote, or just a famous line you like to use.
Go ahead and throw it in there. Also, don't be afraid to mess around with the
options that are available to you in the editing box. Gotta learn somehow!
STEP 5:
AT LAST...
Once you have your signature the way you like it, click 'Save Signature'.
Finally, you're done!
Now, go show off that beautiful signature of yours to the thousands of users
here at BTNHBoard.com Forums.
